Grab your togs, your bravest friends, and your most outrageous costume - it's time to take the plunge! The More FM Mid-Winter Swim sponsored by Cuddon Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, is back on Sunday, June 15, bringing fun, frosty thrills, and fabulous community spirit to the Picton Foreshore. A much-loved tradition, this free family-friendly event invites everyone from seasoned splash veterans to brave first-timers to dive into the icy waters of Queen Charlotte Sound, all for a great cause. Registration opens at 11am, and the big swim kicks off at midday. But don't be late as only swimmers registering on the day, pre-event and taking part, go in the draw to win some seriously cool prizes. Once again proudly backed by longstanding supporters, the team at Cuddon are on board and sponsoring the major prize: a Mitsubishi Electric GS25 High Wall heat pump, fully installed.

The fun starts well before your toes hit the water. From 11am, the team from F45 Blenheim will get your blood pumping with a group warm-up on the foreshore. Then at noon crowds of chilly thrill-seekers, many in wild and wacky costumes, will take the leap together. Creative costumes aren't just for laughs – there are prizes for Best Dressed Adult and Best Dressed Child, thanks to Heide and Hamish at Fresh Choice Picton. Whether you show up as a penguin, a pirate, or just in your fluffiest dressing gown, it's all part of the fun.

What happens after the splash? Warm showers will be ready, thanks to Vinarchy Winery and the Blenheim Rural Fire Force, while delicious hot chocolate and goodies will be available to purchase. Every cuppa and cookie help to support Picton and Waikawa Bay Schools, raising funds for much-needed resources and extracurricular activities.

What began as a local challenge has grown into one of Marlborough's most cherished winter events – thanks to generous sponsors, energetic volunteers, and a community that knows how to have a laugh in any weather.
